SonicWALLs don't allow traffic from the WLAN to the LAN.
You need to use the global VPN client on the wireless laptops in order to connect to the LAN and share files etc.

thanks Jonnie for your suggestions ... I appreciate them ... actually the TZ series does allow WLAN to LAN traffic if you allow it thru the rules ...
It turned out to be the windows firewall of all things ... even though "file and printer sharing" was enabled ... by default the windows firewall allows print and file sharing for the default subnet only ... and because Sonicwall forces the WLAN pcs on a different subnet ... windows firewall blocks it. I disabled the windows firewall, and all was well.

First, can you ping IP's and names in both directions? If yes, try using WINS. Also, to help troubleshoot you can hover your mouse of the bar graph icon in the firewall rules to see if any traffic is passing over the rule. You'd want to check both side of the rule. For the purposes of the test you may want to create another rule on the LAN side that specifically goes to WLAN just to make sure packets are going that way. Also, check your route policies to see if you have a policy for WLAN to LAN. That's under Network -> Routing on the Enhanced OS.
