Port Forwarding
Hi
just wondering if anyone knows how to set single port forwarding to particular LAN IP on NETGEAR ProSafe VPN Wireless ADSL Gateway DGFV338.
Under Security / Firewall Rules / Inbound Traffic you can select from one of predefined services to be forwarded to an IP or IP range.
However I need to use Microsoft Remote Desktop (port n. 3389) for a machine to be accessible via WAN and solution to force all traffic to the one IP isn't ideal.
Thanks

I based my comments on the manual I found at this address:
ftp://ftp.netgear.de/download/DGFV338B/DGFV338_FullManual.pdf
See what it says on pages 4-17 and 4-18.

Ok that makes sense.
Thanks for that.
Thanks for that.
I am not sure if you read the article properly but in the article it is mentioned how to create a custom service after which you can use the service to configure port forwarding. Here's the part from the article:
To Add a Service for These Routers
1. Click Security > Services > Add Custom Service.
2. Enter any name you choose for the service.
3. Select whether the service is to use TCP or UDP. If you are unsure, select both.
4. Enter the lowest port number used by the service.
5. Enter the highest port number used. If the service uses only one port number, enter the same number.
6. Click Apply.
So, you should use TCP and specify port as 3389 (default) if you are running RDP on some other port then you should specify that port.
Thank you for the 'B' grade.
