GNS3 and Cisco Switch/ Firewall

In GNS3 when I drag the PIX firewall icon to the topology window I get a message saying "Please configure a default PIX image"
I have tried the following PIX IOS images:
V6.34,V6.35,V7.22,V7.23,V8.03
But I still receive the same message when I drag the PIX firewall icon to the topology window.

When I drag Ethernet switch icon I don't receive any message, but it doesn't give me any option to start the switch and configure it.

How are you guys getting around this and configure Switches and Firewalls in GNS3.?
when I drag a  router it works just fine, I can start it and open the console and configure it, but no luck with Firewall and switch.

The ethernet switch in GNS3 isn't one you can configure, aside from the VLANs/etc on it. And it is started by default. As for PIX, where did you configure the PIX image?

If I understood  GNS3 doesn't provide any simulation with the switch, so there is no way you can practice on a switch using GNS3
As for PIX firewall, in GNS3 console, I went to Edit-->IOS Images and Hypervisors->under Settings I clicked on the button next to image file and browsed to PIX IOS image
Did you get a chance to work with a switch and firewall using GNS3?

The PIX image is defined in the GNS3 preferences.

it's a router with 16 interfaces, but I am not sure how to use it as a switch. any help?

well, I managed to use the 3640 router as a switch.but there is one thing that I can't figure out in the configuration. I run:
#Vlan Database
#Vlan 10
#Vlan 20
#Apply
#conf t
#int f2/0
while I am inside the interface configuration
#switchport ?
There is no switchport command at all

Any idea why ?
