Hi VisionVoice! no PPTP is fine...It means customer does not have the option of old, insecure PPTP.
Can I use IPSEC and SSL atthe same time?
Unit says I have 2 Global VPN licenses and 1 for SSL. I would like to use whatever is going to work better for sales staff in the field. They have laptops that they use to connect to the VPN and then RDP to desktops located here. I think I want the IPSEC for IT laptops.
Estimated VPN usuage is maximum of 5 concurrent users.
I started the VPN wizard...do I want the default IKE 1 key or make one of my own. I would think one of my own.

Hello Friend! I have some information for you on the Sonicwall VPN...but you may not want to hear it.....
First...The Sonicwall does not support PPTP connections. If you have Small Business Server or some similar PPTP supporting device inside your LAN, you can forward traffic through the Sonicwall, but PPTP clients will not connect directly to the Sonicwall like they did on the Snapgear.
Sonicwall supports two client types of VPN connections....IPSec (using the Sonicwall Global VPN Client) and SSL VPN (using the Sonicwall SSL VPN NetExtender Client. However, the TZ100 only comes with 1 SSL VPN license, and 0 IP Sec licenses. You can purchase and install upto a maximum of 5 of each on the TZ100. The licenses are about fifty bucks each from Sonicwall.
The easiest way to set up the VPN connection is to use the Wizard button at the top right of the admin page. Be sure to choose the client VPN setup and not the site to site VPN wizard.
Sonicwall does support LDAP (active directory) integration. They recently released Single Sign On feature in firmware 5.5 that gives some enhanced LDAP functionality as well.
Good Luck!
