The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

trunking for vlan1

Hey Experts!
I need a little help with setting up a TRUNK between 2 interfaces on 1 ASA 5510. I need to setup one of my interface ports to trunk mode for vlan 1. this is so that I can setup a packet sniffer.

The current setup is 2 interfaces: interface ethernet 0/0 Vlan2 (outside) and interface ethernet 0/1 vlan1 (inside). I need to setup interface ethernet 0/2 to be a switchport of vlan1. I try to do this in the commend line, but I'm giving it the wrong command.

I've tried going into the config-if for the interface ethernet 0/2 and I can't seem to get the command right for making it a switchport. I've looked in the "?" but never saw a command relating to it. Once I can get interface etherner 0/2 a switchport of vlan 1 I can enter the  commands below and have it in trunk mode and monitor all the traffic flow.

I've done this setup before on a ASA 5505 and it was easy, but this seems to be a little more complicated firewall. If there is a better way toachieve the sniffer I need please feel free to suggest it. I'm open for new ideas.
