Issue was user error, thanks for the post
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWe have a Zywall 70 that came to us in apparent working order. We flashed the firmware to the latest version (3.65 for none utm) using the web console at which point the device stopped connecting to anything plugged into the LAN ports. We are able to connect to the console via serial cable and have reflashed the firmware multiple times, trying both the UTM and nonUTM versions available from Zyxel's website. Zyxel support has informed us that either should work on the device and that sometimes you have to flash the same version twice in a row and flash the config rom as well to get it to work, so we have attempted that too. We have also attempted connecting multiple computers to different ports with no luck, and multiple resets. The console interface is always accessible and and all settings appear to be correctly configured in it. Any suggestions on getting it up and running are appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

1st thought, is the device making the physical connections.... do you plug it into a switch/hub and get link lights?
2nd thought, if its a switch, you should hopefully see the MAC address from the device in the MAC address table of the switch... If its an unmanaged unit, then you can try adding a static ARP entry from your subnet range to its MAC address and try to ping it.
