Is the Lucent 1675T28 a DSP?

Does anyone know if the Lucent 1675T28 is a real DSP (Digital Signal Processor) used in real hardware-modems, or is it just part of a chip-set used in WinModems?

I thought there is no USB-modem that uses a real DSP. The modem is emulated by the CPU of the computer. A mate said, that if there's a Lucent 1675T28 in the modem and it is a DSP.

The actual issue is WinFAX having a lot of issues faxing, and I suspect it's because Windows and the CPU (older system) are having problems.

The actual device is ELSA USB Microlink. Elsa was overtaken by the Germany company Devolo and the modems are now named Devolo USB Microlink.
