Hi,
I've recently purchased an Icon 225 USB Mobile Broadband Modem from Orange.
It works fine if I disable my local area network connection, but obviously this isn't an acceptable solution every time I want to go on the internet. (My LAN doesn't have internet provision, hence the Icon225).
The device appears as a Wireless Network Connection under Control Panel -> Network Connections, so it appears as an 'always on' connection rather than 'dial up connection'. I tried going to Internet Options and looking at the network connections, but all the options relating to 'always dial / never dial / only dial if no connection' are greyed out as no dial-up connection exists.
When I connect to the Mobile Broadband, with my LAN enabled, the SMS Center works fine (I can send/receive text messages to my phone) but all websites give me 'Page cannot be displayed'. If I disable the LAN, the websites all display fine.
It appears IE is trying to find pages through my LAN rather than 'any connection'. I didn't think to try Firefox or other browser; I will next time I'm there.
Can anyone help? Is there a way to prioritise the connections so that IE prefers the Icon225? Or create a dial-up connection for the Modem? Has anyone else had this issue and solved it?
Thanks,
Peter.
