Speed Difference between 2wire 1000HG and 2701HG modems

I am assisting a young lady with her computer issues which consists of a slow web page connection. (Google takes about a minute to connect when it is clicked) We were wondering if her old 2Wire1000 HG modem might need to be replaced with a 2701hg. Is there any speed increase by upgrading to a 2701?

No that's not it. Basically, I'm just asking will I get any greater connection speed from a 2wire 2701 HG than from my old 2wire 1000 HG.

The link i posted tell:

"The difference between the two is that 2wire 1000 hg is USB compatible while the 2701 is not"

so there are not speed differences...
