WPA2-Personal with AES encryption offers the highest level of security and convenience for the home user.
If your wireless adapter or device does not support WPA2-Personal (aka WPA2-PSK, or Pre-Shared Key) with AES, sometimes just a driver update will enable it.
Next-best is WPA-Personal with TKIP encryption (really just WEP with a key that morphs over time). If your wireless devices do not support at least this level of security, they should probably be replaced (i.e. if you desire not sharing your connection with everyone).
Poor security is the original WEP, which can be cracked in about 5 minutes using freely-available software (google aircrack).
MAC filters can be easily spoofed if there is existing traffic, using sniffers to gather a list of acceptable MAC addresses, then setting a wireless adapter to use one of those MAC addresses.
You should find WPA2-Personal on the Wireless 'tab' of the Linksys web configuration menu, under the sub heading (typically in white lettering just below the 'tabs') Wireless Security.
For a passphrase, do NOT use words available in the dictionary, your phone number, your pet's name, family member names, your street address, or sequential strings on the keyboard... if you're serious about security, anyway. That's no different than 'hiding' a key to your front door on top of the door frame, under the welcome mat, or under a potted plant right next to the door.
An example of a pseudo-random complex key would be 1)A2(3#d4$Fg5&6 - I would not go shorter than 15 characters.
