Question

Configuration of a Cisco 877w Issue

Asked by: jeffc1lin

HI all,

Pretty new to CISCO IOS any gurus that could look at this config and tell me what I have done wrong would be awesome!

Basically everything works DHCP, WiFi, Telnet & SSH. But the ADSL isn't coming up. The sync light is on and solid the tx/rx lights flash everynow and then.

Think its clearly an issue with my Dialer/ATM0 config I have drawn up.

Note: Connection works fine on my billion modem

Hi,

You missed the default route:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dialer1

by: ikalmarPosted on 2009-09-22 at 21:28:58ID: 25400030

and:

interface Dialer0
 dialer pool 1
 dialer-group 1

by: jeffc1linPosted on 2009-09-22 at 21:57:49ID: 25400129

I figure it would be something really simple like that!

by: jeffc1linPosted on 2009-09-22 at 21:58:20ID: 25400131

Ill head home and try the changes tonight and let you know what happens!

by: jeffc1linPosted on 2009-09-23 at 03:46:47ID: 25401572

Ok all good works a treat.

I have just added my required port forwards by similar to the below....

ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.x.x 21 interface Dialer1 21

How do I do a range of ports for programs such as bittorrent??

by: ikalmarPosted on 2009-09-23 at 13:32:13ID: 25407612

do you want to disable this?

by: jeffc1linPosted on 2009-09-23 at 20:12:14ID: 25409847

reply actually enable them through. I have created an acl with a range to allow it to enter network but do i need to do a port forward for every individual port to my bittorrent server?

by: ikalmarPosted on 2009-09-23 at 20:58:47ID: 25409986

bettter way to static nat the ouside address to your server, that you wrote, and mak an acl on outside, but what ports userd the bittorent?

by: jeffc1linPosted on 2009-09-23 at 22:52:47ID: 25410378

This is what I have configured.

ACL 101 is inbound
ACL 102 is outbound

NB: the port forwards are exclusively defined above. Then I have added the port rules to ACL 101 to allow the traffic through.
