Question

U.S Robotics Fax Modem Driver for Server 2008

Asked by: Beavish1

Hi All,

We have a USR5633B, USR265633B 56K USB Faxmodem which we had working on SBS 2003.

We are now running SBS 2008 and I cannot seem to find a compatible driver. I have tried all of them on: USR5633B, USR265633B 56K USB Faxmodem and from the original CD with no luck.

Does anyone know how I can install this or link me to any compatible drivers?

Thanks

Try the above driver x64 bit to see if that works (if you haven't already tried it)

or

http://www.usr.com/support/s-windows.asp

I would recommend to contact their support with this so that they may either let you know which driver or if they are planning to release one.

Hi mutahir,

Sorry, in my original post, where I said "I have tried all of them on:" I meant to paste the first link that you posted.

I have tried them all, none of them work, the one that goes the furthest is the Win 2k3 32bit, which goes past the driver digital signing warning and gets all the way to the end but says FAILED.

Yes, I think you then need to contact their support as SBS 2008 is 64bit and they have no mention on their websiet compatiblity chart for windows 2008 etc with your specific model

have a look at the chart and contact usr support ;

Also, the best drivers or I should say the only drivers you can get would be from their website,

have you tried vista 64bit ones available ?

Did you tried to run them "Run as Administrator"

You may have tried but just a suggestion before contacting their support.

Hi mutahir,

Just tried running this as administrator but still get 'device driver installation failed, could not find modem device for this driver'. Will try contacting their support.

Thanks

One more thing you can test is :

To check these drivers with the device on vista 64 bit or any other OS supported you can manage ;

Then contact their support so you would be determined that you have tried all.
