cant unzip driver

i recently installed a new hard drive on my computer.  i have already installed windows xp. i am trying to unzip a driver file that will enable me to get on the internet but everytime i do it i get   could not create "c:/cabs " aborting unzip operation. nothing will unzip at all. am i missing something? please help.  - m. dragos
