SVI /Layer 3 Interface

I am not familiar with CATOS , I had always worked on Cisco IOS and i am comfortable on cisco IOS . For Home labs & for Practise purpose i bought couple of WS-4003 & 2948 to implement some of networking stuff before putting those stuff on live platforms .

Can anybody help me with stepwise Procedure to Create Layer 3 Interface i.e SVI's ( Interface VLAN 10 ) alongwith IP Address Configuration on for Cisco WS-C4003 & WS-C2948G switches.
Both switch models are layer  3 Switches , The thing is that i tried & searched a lot but still not enough to implement SVI's on these switches .

Only way that i got is ----> you have to enter in MSFC to Create a layer interface through Session Command , But my switch says that this feature is not supported.I can't beleive this.

Can anybody guide me on this . Your suggestion and help is valueable and well appreciated.
