Okay, I was thinking I would have to call them to get the activation keys again, thought I would try here first just in case someone knew a way to recover them.
Thanks!

Browse All TopicsI just upgraded a FWSM from 3.2.5 to 4.0.4 and noticed before the upgrade the context license showed 20 before the upgrade but after upgrading to 4.0.4 it know shows 2. I followed the upgrade procedure I found from the Cisco website where I copied the image file from tftp to flash, then reloaded the module. Upon coming back up it now shows the 4.0.4 image but only 2 context licenses. Did I loose the additional license(s)? Is this normal?
Thanks in advance.

2 contexts is what you get without having an additional license...

so it seems probable the activation key is either missing, or (for some reason) failed to carry over to the version new install
Issue a 'show version' targetting the module and make sure the right license activation key is applied to the unit.
Compare to a full 'show version' output you took before the upgrade, and the
You can see here for more details: http://www.cisco.com/en/US
But essentially, when you upgrade, your original activation key is _supposed_ to be preserved in a file on the FWSM (along with your config, et al.)
I would consider the license activation disappearing a fair bit unusual.
This may ultimately require calling Cisco to get it straigthened out.
But goal one should be to make sure the right keycodes are entered into the configs..
