Dell PowerConnect 3348 Switch Static IP Problem

I have a number of Dell PowerConnect 3348 switches that I am trying to configure with static IPs for management purposes. I have found the VLan IP address and when I try to change it, I get a message that the IP I try and add duplicates an IP interface on the same subnet. I know for a fact that the IP address is unique. I have found a lot of documentation on the hardware and it just mentions that a VLan can only have 1 IP address and that anytime you try and add an IP address is just over writes the old address. Well that is what I want to do, but it is not letting me. The switch is getting the IP address from a BOOTP configuration when it is turned on.  Any help?
