LAN Canon iR2270 printer/scanner/copier can be installed but will not print

I'm at a bit of a loss on what is preventing my Canon iR2270 from printing.  Then LAN is under Server 2003 control.  I'm installing the printer as a local networked printer and the Canon can be pinged.  No issues adding the Canon, but it will not print a test page.  I've also tried it with a client computer running XP Pro.  Same issue - the client will add the Canon but will not print a test page.  I can't find the common issue.

Networked printing-the cable you use is the network cable right (RJ-45)?
For connecting a pc, u use the USB cable, right?
Do u get any error codes?

Disconnect from the network. Connect the pc or laptop and after a complete uninstall, please re-install.

Yes, I'm using the correct cable (RJ-45) as it was previously on a networked computer that was moved and the cable was then too short.  I don' recall this Canon copier unit having a USB port but I'll check when I get into the office on Monday.

We received this printer iR2270 as a temp solution until our larger Canon arrives. I cannot get it to print from the LAN. I can ping, I can reach the Remote UI. I have uninstalled/re-installed; used multiple drivers, etc.

At this point I cannot imagine what is keeping this thing from printing.
