Would this explain the duplicate adapters on the list?

Browse All TopicsI have a laptop that the wireless network adapter has recently stopped functioning. In device manager the only network device that shows up is the LAN. If I select show hidden devices then the wireless devices show up and their duplicates that have "packet scheduler miniport" also show up. I have attached a screen shot.

By displaying hidden devices, you're seeing other drivers required to support a hardware device, drivers for non-connected devices, and non P & P drivers. I don't see any duplicate adapters in your list. The packet scheduler miniport is a chipset driver required for each adapter. To get a better view of your system you should also display devices that are not currently attached:
At the command prompt, type:
set DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEV
From the command prompt, type:
start devmgmt.msc
then tick "show hidden devices"

It's likely that the adapter has either malfunctioned or become disconnected. Some laptops have service panels underneath that allow you to access the wireless adapter, if yours is one of these then you can check that it hasn't shaken loose. Alternatively you can buy a new USB wireless adapter reasonably cheap these days.
