If you have physical access to it, you can use TFTP to load a new image on it. A lot faster than xmodem.

I have a cisco 3560 POE switch with no flash on it. I deleted it to make way for a new one and lost connection.

- Install TFTPD32 on your machine (http://tftpd32.jounin.net
/tftpd32_d ownload.ht ml) - Make sure both devices are on same network
- copy IOS file to flash through ttp
- telnet to switch , in config mode type in copy tftp flash
- enter correct ip address when prompted.
- show flash from privilege mode to see if its in flash

How to Speed Up Xmodem Recovery
When a user tries to recover the switch from a corrupted or missing IOS, the copy xmodem: flash:[IOS
filename] command might not be displayed under the switch: prompt. The copy command might be
displayed under the switch: prompt, but not the copy xmodem: command.
Complete these steps in order to speed up the Xmodem recovery:
Set the baud rate to 115200 on the switch: prompt.
switch: set BAUD 115200
