this one has colors and a photo instead of just pinout numbers...(helps me at least)

pinout for cross cable:
one end:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
the other end:
3,6,2,4,5,1,7,8
where 1 is orange/white striped and 2 is orange and
3 = green/white striped
4 = blue
5 = blue/white striped
6 = green
7 = brown/white striped
8 = brown
Basically this switches the input and output channels. Usually hubs and routers have a crossed port already, where it's crossed in the hub/router itself. [this is useful to connect multiple hubs/routers to eachother using a normal [straight] cable]
Cheers.

for good diagrams
what's on pin 1 on one end is on pin 3 on the other, what's on pin 2 on one end is on pin 6 on the other, the rest all go in the same order
NovaFlash here is what yours should say as 1 switches places with 3 and 2 switches places with 6.
NOVA said
one end:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
the other end:
3,6,2,4,5,1,7,8
He should have said
one end:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 (1)Orange-White,(2) Orange, (3)Green-White, (4)Blue, (5)Blue-White, (6)Green, (7)Brown-White, (8)Brown
the other end:
3,6,1,4,5,2,7,8 (3)Green-White,(6)Green,(1
Hello All,
Actually I though all the answers were valid and very good, but the Q only offered 30 points, so I couldn't split it between you all. Thus a PAQ unless someone objected.
And you have :-)
