The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Using a Cisco VPN Concentrator as a hub to route multiple VPN spokes/tunnels (both Remote Access and LAN-to-LAN)

It's a rather confusing title I know.  Here's the scenario...

I have two labs.  They are connected to one another through a LAN-to-LAN vpn tunnel using a Cisco VPN concetrator at site #1 and a Cisco PIX at site #2.  The two labs communicate with one another just fine through the tunnel.  

The VPN Concentrator at site #1 also acts as a Remote Access terminal for users to log in with Cisco VPN clients so they may access the resources located at site #1.  Users who log into site #1 are able to access all resources local to site #1.

I can't get traffic originating at a VPN client to pass through the LAN-to-LAN tunnel to site #2.  From sniffing and investigation I've found that when a client attempts to ping an address at site #2 the ping never leaves the VPN concentrator.  Almost as if there's some secret switch I need to throw to tell the concentrator that it's okay to act as a hub for the two VPN spokes to communicate.  I've spoken with two Cisco engineers (neither of which seemed very familiar with the VPN concentrator) who have thus far been unable to solve my dilemna.

This MUST have been attempted before.  Any help is MUCH appreciated :)
