Hi Callandor-
Your router can be configured to direct port 6112 to your computer. Most home routers are configured by your web browser. To configure your D-Link router, just type in the address http://192.168.0.1 in your browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc). If you haven't made changes, the username and password will be 'admin'
______________
http://192.168.0.1
Username: admin
Password: admin
______________
Now you'll make changes in the section "Port Redirection" (see below), then goto the "Save Changes" section where you'll click "Save Configuration" then click "Restart"
______________
Port Redirection-
Comment (You might name this 'Battlenet')
Internet Port (6112)
Local Port (6112)
Protocol (UDP)
Local Computer (192.168.0.2 **use your computer's ip address here! im guessing at the last number '2')
_______________
let us know how you do!
** maybe you need to know how to get your ip address? here's how on windows 2000 and XP **
Click
Start / Run / (type in 'cmd' without the quotes then hit the enter key)
now you're in the command line....
type in 'ipconfig /all' then hit the enter key (again without the quotes and note the space before '/all')
now write down the ip address then type 'exit'
plus I took a screenshot of my browser:

I hope that helped
-- what ISP are you using? let's check they don't block battlenet
-- is your machine's IP address actually 192.168.0.2? (i was just guessing the IPadd and i see that you have it configured that way)

-- I see you have windows xp- is the firewall enabled?
Control Panel / Networking and Internet Connections / Network Connections
Right click your network connection
click "Properties"
Advanced tab / uncheck 'Protect my Computer or Network'

My ISP is iiNet (www.iinet.net.au)
and I am pretty sure I can host a game on battle.net because my friend can host with his dsl modem (no router) with the same ISP.
and my machine's IP address is 192.168.0.2 (I double checked that 'ipconfig' in cmd.
And I went and had a look at my windows xp firewall, it's disabled.
I still have no idea what's blocking and stopping me from hosting =(
wow, it had finally worked! I had to put 2 port redirection, instead of just one.
1st one
Local Port (6112)
Protocol (UDP)
Local Computer (192.168.0.2)
2nd one
Local Port (6112)
Protocol (TCP)
Local Computer (192.168.0.2)
I now know that I need 2 of them, not just one. Thanks so much for all those people who helped me solve this problem. Thanks a lot!! ^_^

I have a DLink 704 router, and I can access the admin screen with my browser by using the address 192.168.0.1. I don't know if yours is the same, but after I type in the password, I can go to a screen that allows me to open a particular port to the world.
