FR type and LMI type

Easy question:
frame-relay interface-dlci xxx IETF

When making selection of IETF or Cisco (default), should I consider the model of two DTEs on both end of the PVC, or only consider the model between DTE and DCE (on the DLCI)?

Forgot the LMI part:

Selection of LMI type should be based on the made of the equipment of DTE and DCE, because LMI only runs on the local circuit between DTE and DCE.

Is this correct?

The frame relay encapsulation is between the endpoints of the PVC (your equipment), not the DTE and providers frame relay switch.  Use Cisco if two cisco routers are on each end.  Use IETF when connecting a Cisco to a non-Cisco router.

LMI on the other hand, is between the DTE and providers frame realy switch (DCE).  LMI must match, LMI type is provided to you from the telco.
