cisco 1720 router boot problems

i erased the flash on my router the other day on axident. im having a hell of a time trying to get everything up and working again.

ive managed to get c1700-k9o3sy7-mz.123-7.T3.bin on the router... which first off im not even sure if its whats right for me, but its there and im trying to boot it. when i do it decompresses it and then just seems to reset itsself and keeps doing that untill i stop it.

heres a log of the boot with debug on.

That release requires 96MB of RAM and it looks like you've got 32MB.

ok, i figured it was a incorrect firmware. ok so the question is what firmware should i be using? the router is only doing normal router things... no voip or anything special like that. also using 2 wics eths, if that matters.

Any IP only release.

i.e: c1700-y-mz.123-12.bin

As soon as you move up to IP-Plus or better, the memory requirements go up.

If you bought it from a Cisco distributor, a lot of them can help you out with lost or deferred firmware. Also chances are if that routers more than a couple of years old and it had the original IOS in it, that it was deferred due to a security bug, which entitles you to a new version which incorporates the fix for that issue.
