Help Me Set Up Wireless Connection Please

Hi

I access the Internet from my desktop PC running Windows XP.
I have purchased a wireless D-Link ADSL2+ Router and want to set it up so that I can access my Internet connection from my laptop.

I think that I have followed the installation instructions but cannot connect to the internet from the laptop even though it says that a wireless connection has been made between my Laptop and PC.

Also, when first installed the wireless router i could acces the internet with my desktop PC via the wireless router but after restarting my PC it no longer works. The ADSL light on the front of the router no longer lights up.

Help please before Laptop and PC end up at the bottom of my garden in pieces, been on it for 3 hours and its driving me mad.
