The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

bridging data vlan to voice vlan, to access Mitel 3300 ICP VoIP web server

Asked by WebGeeksUnlimited in Network Routers, Voice Over IP, Network Switches & Hubs

Tags: 3300, vlan, voice

To make this simple, I have an HP Procurce 2650 switch, configure with two VLANs.
DATA: 10.10.0.0. 255.255.128.0 untagged (VLAN 1)
VOICE: 10.10.128.0 255.255.128.0 tagged (VLAN 30)

I want to bridge between the two VLANs, specicifcally to get to the HTTP server on the MItel 3300 ICP VoIP switch from the DATA VLAN.

I have a Cisco 2514 router setup basically as follows;

ip subnet-zero
ip routing
!
interface Ethernet0
 description Data VLAN
 ip address 10.10.0.4 255.255.128.0
 no shutdown
!
interface Ethernet1
 description VoIP VLAN
 ip address 10.10.128.45 255.255.128.0
 no shutdown

To keep it simple, I have no access lists define, but will once I get the first hurdle working. The 2514 is plugged into two ports on the switch.

After I add a static route on my laptop (route add 10.10.128.0 mask 255.255.128.0 10.10.0.4), I can ping the data side (eth0) and reach the voice side (eth1).

I can't seem to get passed that point to the Mitel 3300 ICP VoIP @ 10.10.128.2. Even using the ping in the router, I can't seem to hit the Mitel box.

The port for the VOICE side of the 2514 router, has DATA untagged and VOICE set as NO.

What am I missing?
