cisco 3500 series console trouble

Trying to console into a Cisco 3500 series XL router with no success.  I am using HyperTerminal to do so and was successful when connecting to a Cisco 2600 and 2950 series so my console cable is good.  Is there anything that changes for this type of router?Start Free Trial
