Hi,
The main part of this issue is that when I try to download files from the internet, if I try to run them once downloaded, they keep failing with CRC errors. I have tried multiple sites, different file types (exe, msi), different PC's, running rather than saving locally, making sure the download is in a root directory, I have also put a switch between our Cisco PIX and Cisco router and connected out to the internet via a laptop. The downloads worked a couple of times in this setup, which pointed to the firewall being the issue, but those downloads have now started failing with the same CRC errors. Whilst in this config, I tried forcing the NIC on the laptop down to 10Mbps Full duplex but this made no difference. Here are some details of the setup:
-- Firewall CISCO PIX-515
-- Router CISCO 2600
-- Switch managed Linksys SRW2024 (not currently managed, only serving as a direct connection to the router bypassing the firewall)
-- Line 2Mb leased line
-- OS's Windows Server 2003 SP2, Windows XP SP2
-- Downloads tried: AV Updates from Grifost AVG, Dell drivers, WinZip, Microsoft, FTP and HTTP, .msi and .exe
-- There is no proxy server our end
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Our ISP manages the router and are looking at the issue, so I can't get on to the router, but the issue has been going on for a while now and I really need to get it solved, any help is greatly appreciated :)
thanks
