The accepted solution will only reset the power to the device which will restart it.<br />

The following will allow you to reset the admin password so that you can reset the device from the command line with a console cable:<br />
<br />
1. Connect a PC with a terminal emulator to the serial port (115200/8/1/none).<br />
2. Reboot the X5<br />
3. Wait until the text &quot;Loading&quot; is displayed<br />
4. Before the dots start to be displayed after &quot;Loading&quot; type &quot;mkey&quot; without the quotes. (No return at the end). You only have a few seconds to do this!<br />

This will get you to the place in the OBE where you set up the TOS user.<br />

Hopefully someone can help me out here. I've got a 3Com X5 router I need to do a reset on so that it will revert back to default factory settings. However, I cannot log into it and there's no reset button on it. How do I do this please?<br />
