Hello,
I inherited a network with a number of 2924 Cisco switches. The network is splited in two subnets with a router in between. The main switch which feeds all the others switches has a number of servers on it that are working fine. I can't even ping it from a server that connects directly to this switch. I can't see that switch from anywhere in the network. I can connect to it only by console. What I run the sh int command on it I see that there are 3 VLANs and one says "VLAN2 is administratively down, line protocol is down". The others are up. The server ports are on VLAN2. The only device on VLAN3 is the router that connects the two subnets.
On all the other switches, I see the message "VLAN3 is administratively down, line protocol is down". The VLAN1 and VLAN2 are up and running.
I have little experience with CISCO equipment and this is very confusing to me. Any help would be appreciated.
