how do  i configure this router ?

I  have just bought a  new  router  WRT54G.

its serial no starts with   CDFE .....so  that means i am having 8.0 version (or 7.1 ?)...right ?


currently i am using   ISP's cable LAN to my Laptop  for internet access.

Now, i want to  access the internet  wirelessly  . my  Laptop is  WI-FI enabled

How do i configure the router ?



After  googling around around for sometimes , it seems to me i have to configure my newly bought router with   DD-RT for the best utilization of my router .....am i right ?

can you please tell  me the entire procedure regarding how to get my objective fulfilled ?

please tell me the steps  i need to follow.
