Port questions

ok I am trying to get a remote support program working (pchelpware). I couldn't get a connection so I set up my router to do dmz to an ip address on my network. I went to shields up (port scan program) to see that the ports were open and it only has a few open. Since I have dmz set up should it should all ports open? I am using and actiontec Ml424WR router.
