Router connected as a client through my dsl modem?

Asked by Jillian in Network Routers, Wireless Network Cards & Adapters, 802.11 Wireless Access Points

Tags: D-Link, wbr-2310, wireless router

I just installed a D-Link wbr-2310 router.  My internet connection is working fine, but I don't think it is set up correctly.  I cannot log into the router with the default 192.168.0.1 address.  Instead, it is receiving an IP address from my dsl modem.  where my desktop computer is 172.16.1.35, the router is 172.16.1.34 and a wireless device I have configured comes in as 172.16.1.36.  I can log into my router when I put 172.16.1.34, but I have a feeling this is not right.  Shouldn't the router be distributing IP addresses in the format 192.168.0.101 and so on?  Start Free Trial
