Voip router's configuration

Hello!
I recently posted a question here...but since I have now much more info,I decided to start from the scratch (that question is closed now anyway)...
I have XP Pro,ADSL connection.I got VoIP (VOB) router AudioCodes MP-202.My ISP also sells local phone called routed through Internet.I have my own Ethernet router D-Link too.AudioCodes belongs to the ISP.Currently ADSL modem is connected to AudioCodes and AudioCodes router is connected to D-Link and D-Link is connected to my PC.Somehow the AudioCodes web config menu is accessed on port 8080 (???),I only got user level password.I found out where the reset button is (it was on the bottom of the device),but I was told that resetting the device don't erase the admin password,which is allegedly written in ROM of the device(???)...So what kind of BS is all of this?

It is "locked" with a specific configuration to ensure use with the ISP/provider only  - most likely.  So that would be the "BS" that you are referring to.

What is it that you are trying to accomplish?

I want to use it as I would a regular device...I was also told  that they lend similar devices to customers that travel overseas so they could make VoIP calls from there...So probably those are "unlocked" ones?
Is there a way to  unlock the device and why hard reset won't delete the admin's password?

Unfortunately, I don't know how you would reset the password.  I believe the ISP uses "remote provisioning" by encrypting a configuration file that holds the password.   You can read about it here....

So, at best, you will need to work with the ISP and try to get their cooperation on what you need.  Otherwise, you need to purchase a different product. Linksys has several models that you can purchase "unlocked", but I haven't used any so I can't necessarily support any of them.
