hi,
i m trying to bind specific ip with mac address of client pc.so
client can not change their ip.i tried with ARP entries to make ip
static then make interface reply-only but if i did like this i can not
access any other pc which r locally.
is it possible to bind ip with mac???
i don't want to use DHCP server bcuz of more webservers which r NATed.

i m not using DHCP for my network.i know if i use DHCP i can bind ip with MAC.but i want to bind static ip with MAC.in my LAN i have 50 clients ,i don't want to go each and every client PC and change their ip to
automatically configure.i can get all client pc MAC address from mikrotik router.so is it any way to bind static ip??????

OK, so all those PCs have their IP addresses specified on the local config? In that case, assigning static arp entry is the correct way to do it. You will also want to make arp=disabled (or reply-only) on that ethernet interface so that it does not learn new IP addresses foir the same MAC. When you make a static arp, what happens that you don't expect?

yes all PC's have their specific ip address.when i did static arp entry and after that made specific interface (where all pc's r connected ) arp=reply-only ,i can not access to other pc which i was not add
to static .means for example
192.168.1.1 ----MAC add ----- arp entry is static ----arp=reply-only
192.168.1.4 ------- don't make static
i want to access 192.168.1.1 from 192.168.1.4 but i can not.thats my problem.
is it work like this ???

Hi,
of course you won't be able to access any other PCs because the router can't learn the addresses with ARP! :-D
and, unfortunately, as soon as you enable full ARP again, those guys will be able to set their own IP address and circumvent your scheme.
you can't have your cake AND eat it! ;-)

that's right, or else put them on different ethernet interfaces.

what is the problem with static entry in the arp table? how does the client connect to your network, and what kind of device is the client (i.e. laptop computer, CPE router, server, etc) ?

I don't understand why DHCP would cause any problem with webservers - please explain! :-}
