I do not have a config currently I was trying to figure out the configuration equivelant of cisco SLA and route tracking in cisco ios to Junipers Junos for a J2320 router.

I do not have any DRP's in place and its going to be two static routes 1 to MPLS network where internet is backhauled and the other is to an SSG520M with VPNs to other facilities and internet. The primary route will be pointing over the MPLS and backup will be over the SSG. We have control over the SSG but limited control over the MPLS router. I was researching and another option poped up BFD (bidirectional forwarding detection). This in theory might work but do you have any experience with its reliability and if other vendors support. I believe at this new location our MPLS router will be cisco as it is at 4 out of 5 of our other sites, but it may be adtran.

Let us say you want to have two default routes, when one interface goes down; other should take over:
Configure following in configuration mode:
set routing-options static route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop 1.1.1.1 preference 10
set routing-options static route 0.0.0.0/0 next-hop 2.2.2.2 preference 20
Here, lesser preference is preferred.
