Question

Cisco router blocking ecternal FTP access?

Asked by: KarlS2010

When I FTP internally on our 10.100.0.x network it works fine no matter how I do it. When I try to FTP from outside the network I cannot. When I do command line from windows I can get in but not list anything and from a client like filezilla I cannot even enter passive mode? I have been looking at the show run and everything looks ok? Help?!

Post the router configuration here minus any public IP information.

by: MikeHolcombPosted on 2009-11-06 at 10:35:59ID: 25761738

Depending on your NAT and firewall configurations, external FTP connectivity could change.  Have you tried 'Auto-detect', passive and active modes in Filezilla?  Typically, one will work if the connectivity is allowed through your network devices.

As mentioned, if you could post your router config, it would help with troubleshooting.  And let us know if you have a firewall or not...

Hope this helps...

I think access-list 103 is your problem. You're only allowing FTP to a single host according to the access list. To test, remove the access list.

config t
int serial0/2/0
no ip access-group 103 in

Please add
access-list 103 permit tcp any host XXX eq ftp-data
