I have been told that a draytek vigor 120 modem should be ok but i dont want to buy another router/modem unless someone can confirm that it will work with a watchguard x10e and how to set it up. I know some vigor routers work ok and have used a 2800 in the past. The equivalent now is too expensive for the client, who is on a tight budget.
Any help, ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

It will be a straight forward configuration, if you are configuring PPOE, connect to your vigor first, provide the username/password and any other ISP specific settings you may have on the Vigor
Then disable dhcp on it (if not already), put it to the same IP RANGE as you want your Watchguard's External interface
Assign your WG External Interface an IP from the same range as the vigor 120 and the subnet mask ofcourse.
Connect via straight ethernet cable from your vigor 120 to your wg wan
then connect the phone line to your vigor 120
a good idea would be to first test vigor 120 without the wg to make sure its connecting to your ISP fine and is stable, then do as above.

A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the "traffic directing" functions on the Internet. The most familiar type of routers are home and small office cable or DSL routers that simply pass data, such as web pages, email, IM, and videos between computers and the Internet. More sophisticated routers, such as enterprise routers, connect large business or ISP networks up to the powerful core routers that forward data at high speed along the optical fiber lines of the Internet backbone. Though routers are typically dedicated hardware devices, use of software-based routers has grown increasingly common.
