The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by tdm032 in Exchange Email Server, Miscellaneous Networking, Network Routers
I have a client that I setup an Exchange email server and Blackberry Professional Software to wirelessly sync the clients email and calander. Initially when I configured the server, I setup the PC on the domain and configured the clients email through Outlook. The client was able to send email, but could not send email and the blackberry would not sync. I realized this was due to port 25 being blocked and I would need a static IP for the serevr.
This office space is being leased out and the internet service and IP's are managed by the office building. I requested and purchased an IP form the building and configured the server with the new IP. Thee IP leased from the building was setup on a sepeerate switch than the PC. Once the new IP was confiured, the Exchange email was working properly and the Balckberry's were now syncing with their email and calander, however the office PC is now unable to see the server and connect with exchange. And at this point I am stuck.
I tried configuring the Outlook email to mail.domain.com with no joy. My question is, is their a way to configure Outlook to connect with Exchange, being is though the Exchange server and PC are on seperate switches. Or do I need to setup the PC on the same internal network? Could this be done by setting them up on a switch or router from the same port?
Thank you for any suggestions and I appologize if I am not using the proper verbage or if my explanation is a bit confusing.
