DLink DIR-655 and DLink DGS-2205

I purchased a DIR-655 which I put on the 1st floor so it would be between the basement and 2nd floor. I ran a CAT5e, 200MHz cable from the 1st floor down to the basement and connected a DGS-2205 switch to it.  The problem lies in on the switch the port where the cable is plugged in blinks green and on the router it doesnt do anything.

Any help would be great.
