I have computers on this one particular subnet who all have long loading times when opening outlook. It could take up to two minutes to open. Iused ping and other tools to verify no issues with Exchange or Active Directory. Outlook users are connecting with no loss in packets according to standard windows tools however, they experience very long or hanging issues when opening outlook.
I was wondering how I could tell on the switch if I'm losing pakets coming into the switch (not out) or how to test the cable. This switch I think is either a 2900 or 3500 Cisco switch. Pinging the gatewy does no show anything unusual but TCP has the tendancy to correct itself anyways pluss won't show if there is other packets being dropped that deal with authentication exc.
I also noticed my connection drops out every couple minutes when romoting to another machine from the bad subnet but quickly comes back. The internet works fine.
Any ideas or tests I can run on the switch?
