TCP/IP
I'm having an issue copying files no matter how large or small over to oher workstations only on a specific subnet of our network. Everything else is working fine.
I brought in another machine from my office that works and put it on the bad network and I get the same network issues.
The error message after using \\ServerORWorkstation\c$ and copying a folder, I get:
"Cannot Copy %RandomFilename% Network name no longer available"
I'm pretty sure I ruled out any setting on the workstation due to the fact that my good omputer on a different subnet also stops working when transferred to that location as described above. We also experience hanging Outlook for email when accessing message sizes 1MB or more. The larger the file the longer the wait but it does get through f you wait long enough however, copy files always gives us these errors.
Also, I can copy files from my good workstation to the bad one just not vice versa
I hope this is a clue as to what the issue is.
I'm using a new Cisco 3720 switch and this all started happening around about the time of the upgrade but nobody is exactly sure. It's all fuzzy.
Pinging the gateway and the workstations from both sides shows 1ms but I don't think ICMP is an end all verification thatthe switch is not causing the issue..
