DES 3550, Forgot password. Reset managed switch to factory defaults?
We have two switches on our network, and it appears someone applied a password to them. They are DES-3550 Managed Switches.
If I can't log in, how can I reset this switch to factory defaults to clear the password?
Thank you!

If they give me anything relevant that can be shared, I will post it in the update.
If anyone else has any other ideas... i am still waiting for D-link to get back to me...

Just an update... and points will be awarded to you!
D-Link support says their Layer-3 switches can only be reset once logged into the switch. In the case of forgotten passwords... there is no solution!

yepp, but they can reprogram flash in the lab.
Hi... we faced a similar problem with DES 3326 ( layer 3) switches and the solution i received from the technical support was to send them the MAC address of the switch. Typically it is present on a sticker behind the switch so you don ot need to log in for that. Send them the MAC address and they will give you a Master password for that. After logging in using the Master password you can reset the old password. I hope this helps you.
in this case you have to contact your d-link support.
