Which SNMP setting, all or just some?

Do you do a write mem after you change them?

If you look at the start-up config, are they there?

by: that1guy15Posted on 2008-12-19 at 08:57:38ID: 23213595

if write mem  does not save them it might be a bug in the image. i would then upgrade your image.

by: jsuttorPosted on 2008-12-19 at 09:05:21ID: 23213654

It's the Express version, it only has a HTTP GUI, no CLI. Can't write mem. All SNMP setting are gone.

So im not too familiar with the CE500 series and the device manager but when you reboot you should have an option to save settings. It was also my understanding that when you make changes and apply them they were saved to the startup config as well.

Also check the main page to see if there is an option to save.

No option to save. All the other settings seem to save when I hit the submit button on the page but the SNMP just doesn't stay after a reboot.

Are you just accessing the manager from the web interface or are you using the manager installed on a system?

Try installing the manager on your system and see if it will save then. It also might be a bug. update your image or contact cisco if you have a support contract

In several of my post i suggested the possibility of there being a bug in the image. I feel those post provided a viable solution to your problem.

It appears to be a bug, or feature. There is a way to access a CLI and save the config. Here is the url: http://switchip/level/15/exec/-

yesh this is a verified bug with Cisco.  At this time (As of today) they dont have any fix for it.

Here is the workaround:
Workaround:

1) Submit changes on any other page after enabling SNMP, the SNMP
config will be saved to startup.
2) Uuse this URL to force a config save:
http://x.x.x.x/level/15/exec/-/copy/run/start/CR
