I am setting up a cisco 2960 switch. &nbsp;He usually work on HP and 3com switches so command knowledge is not so great with cisco. &nbsp;On the 2960m is this only a L2 switch? &nbsp;Also if the customer has the dhcp server on a different subnet,(4 mand office connected to MPLS) does that mean that the router would have the dhcp relay statements?

Can a cisco 2960 switch do dhcp relay?

A switch is a device that filters and forwards packets of data between LAN segments. Switches operate at the data link layer or the network layer of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model and therefore support any packet protocol. LANs that use switches to join segments are called switched LANs or, in the case of Ethernet networks, switched Ethernet LANs. A hub is a connection point for devices in a network.
