I am trying to setup some VLan's on my work network to pass some DSL services from a DD-WRT box via a D-Link DGS-1224T Smart Switch to a PFSense server running as a VM on an ESXi. The problem is that we only have one ethernet link between the DD-WRT and switch and between switch and ESXi. So i have been attempting to use VLan's to send both networks into the switch and then from the switch to ESXi, where i can assign them in ESXi to virtual interfaces for PFSense.
The problem is that i ma having real issues understanding how the VLan config should be done on the DGS-1224T. I have spoken to D-Link and they told me to make sure that the ports that i wish to use are Un-Tagged for my chose VLan's. The problem with that is that you can only untag a port for 1 VLan, and i am attempting to pass two. Basically the D-Link is very different to what i am used to, so i am looking for some good documentation (unlike d-links) on how this is achieved.

Ok, i have worked this out. You need to create a Vlan with the ID you need, then within that Vlan setup you can assign each port as Tagged, Un-Tagged or Not Member.
So for an incoming port that already has VLan tags, you set the port to Tagged. Or if you want to send out traffic from a port with no taggs added, then choose Un-Tagged.
Obviously, you cannot have multiple Vlan's untagged on the same port, as one port can only send one lot of data, so this is where the Not-Memeber comes in. By default all ports are a tagged member or Vlan1, so if you wish to untag a port on another VLan then you have to ensure that port is set as "Not Member" in the default Vlan1.
Phew, Dlink support where no help on this one, they gave me completely incorrect info!!

I'm not sure if DLink has a different name for this, but what you will need to accomplish is called VLan trunking(reference IEEE 802.1Q for standards specifications).
example:
router hosting 2 or more vlans
- trunk to switch for multiple vlans
switch with users on multiple vlans
- vlan tags per port for users specific network
- trunk to other switch(es) to pass vlans through from router
- trunk to ESXi(which also mush support trunking) to pass vlans through from router
