Monitor port utilization over time

I have a Network Attached Storage device that we just installed. If I want to monitor the utilization of the port 5/13 that goes to the NAS how can I do that. "sh mac" does not show utiliization such as 10% and "show top" would only show the top utilized ports. And neither command would track over time and would only give me a reading when I ran the command.
I would like to get an idea of how this port is being utilized throughout the day and week. This is CAT OS on 6513 but I would also like to know similar commands if any for IOS.

Something along the lines of:

switch(config)#monitor session 1 destination interface fast 0/18
switch(config)#monitor session 1 source interface fast 0/1-17, 0/19-24

Thanks netcmh.

I was looking for an easy way to track overall utilization to see if 1gb is enough to carry the traffic for the NAS. I was trying to avoid having to hook up a sniffer or computer to capture the data. I was hoping there was some command or buffer in the switch itself that could do this. If not then I may have to do something like you suggested.
Might try sending a big file 4 to 6 gb to the NAS. (Any thoughts on how well this would test the 1gb connection to the NAS?)

We also have a snmp based tool that I might be able to use.

I am still waiting to test the throughput on this once the NAS is in use. Probably try our ehealth snmp monitoring tool for a week and maybe try wireshark for an immediate view.
Still waiting to test this. I am also trying to see if Netapp has server load balancing or nic teaming to see if we can utilize the two 1 gb ethernet links better than etherchannel with one active and one in standby.
