You could also try a DHCP helper address on the router if supported by the hardware and otherwise do-able.
The heler address is the address of the DHCP server so it will forward the requests.

Browse All TopicsWe have a remote site that is connected to us via a private PTP T1. Workstations on both sites can connect and authenticate to the domain. They can share resources and information. However, the remote location requires that we configure static IP addresses. If configured with statics they can access the LAN and domain just fine.
The switch at the remote location is a dumb switch to allow passthru (Cisco 2950). The firewall is managed by Qwest and they said they have communication open for anything bearing an interal IP.
DHCP is running on our domain controller and has an entire pool not in use. Running Windows Server 2003.

By default, the broadcast traffic that DHCP relies on to assign IP addresses to requesting clients does not pass through routers. In this scenario, I would configure a DHCP scope on the firewall that is managed by Qwest to provide dynamic IP addresses to the systems at your remote location.
