Asked by McScott in 802.11 Wireless Access Points, Wireless Network Cards & Adapters, Network Routers
First time question, thanks in advance for any help!
I am trying to log into a router to set up a password for the wireless network. The internet works fine, but no password was setup when the router was connected. It is a D-link 4-port wireless router, and I was under the impression the address to log in is 192.168.0.1. When I try that in my browser (IE or Mozilla) I get an error message: 500 Internal Server Error. I am using WinXP Home SP2.
This computer is connected through a Wireless USB device... does it need to be a wired Ethernet connection to log in? I didn't think so, but perhaps I am wrong. No searching on Google has turned up any results pertaining to a router, just other (probably more complicated) issues with servers and websites.
Any help is appreciated!
