Can a wireless-G repeater be used with a wireless-N router?

Can a wireless-G repeater be used with a wireless-N router?

I have WRE54G and WRT160N products from linksys. They say they haven't tested it so it may or may not work.

Not everyone who comes over has a wireless-N adapter so they are stuck using the low range G. Can I increase the G with that repeater?

no the N is fine. Its just that not all my guests have an N adapter on their laptop. So I need to expand the G.
The G should be fine without expand. How far that you talk about?

N wireless expands further than G correct?

its down stairs and across the house. I only get 1 bar when using G.
That is correct, N mode should be cover dead spots that G mode wont able to cover.
